Life is always trying to nudge us forward. It’s always trying to help us unleash the highest and best aspects of ourselves. It’s always speaking to us. Especially when we’re heading toward the edge.
Whether we see the signs before it’s too late is another story.
But the universe is always sending them. They may be subtle whispers, like a deep knowing that you can feel in your gut but just can’t explain. Or BIG like a seizure out of the blue.
Whatever they may be we can’t deny them because if we do they’ll only get stronger. Growing in intensity until we CAN’T ignore them.
Below you’ll find 6 different ways to “see the signs” that the universe is sending you. Because we all need a little help and courage from time to time.
1) Look for Patterns
Shortly after Will Smith got his first taste of acting he was hooked. He went and watched the top 10 grossing films of all time (at that point in his career) looking for patterns. Will went on to say that, “I study the patterns of the universe.”
Look for the patterns in your life. Look for the rhythms. Look for the rise and fall of the tides. Look for the situations that continue to repeat themselves – especially the “negative” ones.
That’s the universe giving you a signal that it may be time to change things up a bit.
2) Look for Pain
Physical pain is a BIG signal from the universe. Pain let’s us know that we’ve missed the subtler signs from earlier. And that now the universe is trying a little harder to get you to notice something. And that something is the fact that we need to take some form of action to change something about how we’re living.
When you get an ache or a pain ask yourself, “What’s going on in my life that I need to deal with?”
3) Look for a Feeling
Sometimes you “know” things. You don’t know how you know them – all you know is that you do. You can feel it in your gut.
Gut feelings sometimes referred to as intuition are those moments when you experience strong judgements about people, situations or things that seem to come out of nowhere.
It turns out that we may just have a second brain.
The gut has millions of nerve cells and, through them it has a sort-of “mind of its own,” says Michael Gershon, author of The Second Brain and a professor at Columbia University. Still, gut feelings do not originate there, but in signals from the brain.
Think of your gut feelings as super-fast and rapid cognition processing. It takes advantage of the brain’s built in shortcuts and unconscious associative processes.
The next time you get a “bad” feeling about something take a moment to look a little deeper into it.
4) Look for Roadblocks
French is one of those languages where anything you say in it just sounds beautiful. Take the word Cul-de-sac, it literally means a dead end.
Life presents us with dead ends all the time but we ignore them.
You ever been working on a project, campaign or something that you’ve been pushing forward and putting your time into and all of a sudden you’re just dead in the water? And no matter what you do nothing seems to work out?
Take a second to think about why that is…
5) Look for Words
I remember hearing an interesting story about a woman who gave herself arthritis (you’ll see what I mean in a second).
She had been on about 5 different medications and she was only experiencing mild relief from the pain. She finally decided to dive a little deeper into her illness and why this was happening to her.
For a long time things at home weren’t good. She had been having some major marital problems.
She soon discovered that she had been constantly saying to herself, “I can’t stand this anymore.” and soon pieced two and two together. Her long-term arthritis had started in her feet.
6) Look for Synchronicity
Another word for synchronicity is coincidence. That event’s in your life have a deeper meaning for than we give them credit for.
Deepak Chopra said that, “When a coincidence arises, don’t ignore it. Ask yourself, What is the message here? What is the significance of this? You don’t need to go digging for the answers. Ask the question, and the answers will emerge.”
And the next time you stumble upon a “coincidence” answer it’s calling because it may be exactly what you need.
Seeing the Signs In Your Life
Life is always conspiring in your favor. And sometimes something like a seizure can be one of the best things to ever happen to you.
If you can see the sign that the universe has just shown you.
